Photoshop downloads, anyone?

June 26th, 2009 -- Posted in How-to, Photoshop | No Comments »

Heya all Photoshop lovers! Here is a post where you can download really cool vectors and brushes. The contents aren’t mine and I do not claim any one of them. In fact, I will just be linking them to sites that has the actual downloads, to avoid any complications. I will be posting instructions on how to install them as well, for those who don’t know how to.

To my couz, Alyssa, here yah go.. Enjoy!

Brushes

So much for the Brushes. Now on to some vector shapes. =P Just to let you guys know, vectors are those you see on “Custom Shapes”.. =]

Vector Shapes

  • Crazy Leaf Design – The URL was too long.. haha
  • All Graphic Design – I downloaded an awful lot of vectors here already, and they are really great!!
  • Ades Blog – The vector shapes in this website are soooo cool!!! =]
  • Smashing Magazine – I love the downloads you can get from this site. They have pretty great stuff up there.
  • Lady Oak – Love the shapes in here.

How to add to Photoshop
Now that you got all the brushes and shapes you like, you probably are wondering how you are ever going to have them show up on Photoshop. I will teach you a very simple technique. “Lazy” technique in my opinion. =P This will work for both brushes and custom shapes. Anyway, the easiest you can do is, Open the folder where your downloads are. If they have been unzipped (obviously you unzipped it because it was compressed, duh! hehe), open the folder where it has been extracted to. Now, locate the file with a .CSH (custom shape) or .ABR (Brushes) in the file explorer. If you need help locating them, you can easily do so in Windows Explorer. Click View > Details. Then, you will easily locate the file extensions. Now, with Photoshop open, you can just drag and drop the file to Photoshop, and they will be placed in their respectful, well, places. =P Now, ain’t that easy? If you select the Brush Tool now, you will see the brushes you downloaded in the list, without the need of loading them on Photoshop itself. Same goes for the shapes. Click the Custom Shape tool, and there you go. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Anyways, these are the sites I digged up for now. I will be having more to come. =] I just have to dig through the net more. =P Hope You all like them. Leave a comment and tell me what you want to be added, and share to with others who loooove photoshop the way we do. ;) Enjoy!
