This is so common nowadays in blogs. Usually, we can tell a comment is spam when you see so many irrelevant links posted, or maybe just a jumble of words that don’t make any sense, or simply something that does not, not even the slightest, responding about your post. You get the idea, don’t you? An example of a pretty obvious spam comment is one you see on YouTube , the so-called “Chain Comments”, which is quite similar to Chain Letters, asking you to repost a comment because something bad will happen. Lame, right?
But now, they’ve been pretty clever to make bots that comment now like the usual spam comments we know. They know consist of complete sentences. Yes, I have been a victim of this. Below is a sample of a comment I get pretty often here on my blogsite:
“Эта отличная идея придется как раз кстати”
Yes, sadly, I have been a victim of these comments. I’ve been getting different varieties of these comments, but yes, these have been bothering me for the past week, or month I guess. I’ve been getting comments all the time from what I thought were really Russians. I even have them translated in translation sites. Only to realize after a while that they probably are spams. Which led me to research about them. And, I was right. The comments I have been accepting are merely spams!
So, how to avoid or identify spams? Easy. Simply copy the comment you suspect is spam, go to Google, paste the comment in the search box, and click Search. If you see the exact phrase or comment alot in the results, then, it definitely is spam.
Another way to avoid it is have Captcha for your comments. This will determine if the comment poster is a human or just a bot. (I just received pesky little comment again – argh!)
WordPress actually has Akismet to determine somehow which comments are spam or not. If there is a comment Akismet does not recognize as spam, but you think it is, then do the Google Search.
I got this idea from the following link:
How to Identify a Smart Spam
Check it out, it would be of great help. =D
Hope this kinda helped you all. CheerS!

Heya all Photoshop lovers! Here is a post where you can download really cool vectors and brushes. The contents aren’t mine and I do not claim any one of them. In fact, I will just be linking them to sites that has the actual downloads, to avoid any complications. I will be posting instructions on how to install them as well, for those who don’t know how to.
To my couz, Alyssa, here yah go.. Enjoy!
Brushes
So much for the Brushes. Now on to some vector shapes. =P Just to let you guys know, vectors are those you see on “Custom Shapes”.. =]
Vector Shapes
- Crazy Leaf Design – The URL was too long.. haha
- All Graphic Design – I downloaded an awful lot of vectors here already, and they are really great!!
- Ades Blog – The vector shapes in this website are soooo cool!!! =]
- Smashing Magazine – I love the downloads you can get from this site. They have pretty great stuff up there.
- Lady Oak – Love the shapes in here.
How to add to Photoshop
Now that you got all the brushes and shapes you like, you probably are wondering how you are ever going to have them show up on Photoshop. I will teach you a very simple technique. “Lazy” technique in my opinion. =P This will work for both brushes and custom shapes. Anyway, the easiest you can do is, Open the folder where your downloads are. If they have been unzipped (obviously you unzipped it because it was compressed, duh! hehe), open the folder where it has been extracted to. Now, locate the file with a .CSH (custom shape) or .ABR (Brushes) in the file explorer. If you need help locating them, you can easily do so in Windows Explorer. Click View > Details. Then, you will easily locate the file extensions. Now, with Photoshop open, you can just drag and drop the file to Photoshop, and they will be placed in their respectful, well, places. =P Now, ain’t that easy? If you select the Brush Tool now, you will see the brushes you downloaded in the list, without the need of loading them on Photoshop itself. Same goes for the shapes. Click the Custom Shape tool, and there you go. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Anyways, these are the sites I digged up for now. I will be having more to come. =] I just have to dig through the net more. =P Hope You all like them. Leave a comment and tell me what you want to be added, and share to with others who loooove photoshop the way we do.
Enjoy!

As we all know, Father’s Day is just a few days away. And probably, some of you would be freaking out on what you can do for your dad on Father’s Day. Well, don’t worry, here are a few ideas to make your dad feel special.
- Get him something he likes.
Is your dad talking about a particular DVD movie, or maybe a t-shirt he spotted at the malls? Or any kind of small thing he keeps talking about, which he obviously likes? Why don’t you get it for him yourself, and surprise him on his day? Now is the time to put your savings into good use. Maybe there is something you are saving for, but, you can get it yourself another time. After all, Father’s Day only comes once a year.
- Go outdoors.
There are a lot of things you can do, besides going to the mall and just strolling. Why don’t you go and have a picnic with the whole family? Play some outdoor games, or challenge your dad to a game of basketball or badminton. The choices are endless. Then, you can maybe grill food for lunch and have a picnic. It’s a really fun way to celebrate Father’s Day.
- Picture Perfect.
If you are into scrapbooking, why not put your dad’s photos into good use? Instead of them lying around and being neglected, compile them into a scrapbook, so it is more presentable. Decorate it, put in captions, tell the story of each picture, show how special your dad is. Whoever sees the scrapbook then will be amused by just looking at the pictures. I’m sure he’ll be happy if you did do it.
- Chef for a day.
For a change, why not cook for your dad on father’s day. Have him relax while you take care of the cooking. You may even spice it up by blindfolding him, and taking him to the dinner filled with dishes you prepared yourself. Not only does it give you fulfilment, it will also make your dad really happy and proud of you for taking time to prepare something special for him.
- Massage, massage, massage.
You don’t have to take your dad to massage shops for him to relax. Why not give him a message yourself? Massage his tired hands, feet, back, neck, temples, etc. Give him a hand and foot spa. Not only will he feel very relaxed, he will sure be happy you are doing it for him. And that he is not getting it from anyone else.
- Car wash.
If you see your dad cleaning the car, go help him out. Not only do you help him clean the car, you could also talk and catch up with a lot of things. Talk about the latest movie, or maybe a video game if your dad is a gamer, too. It will definitely be a cool bonding time.
- Hug.
And if all else fails, or you don’t get the chance to do any of the above, give your dad a really big, long, warm hug. A hug is a very simple gesture that can mean a lot to your dad. Let your dad feel he is loved and very special to you, that he means everything to you. If you haven’t been giving him any hugs lately and you do it really really seldom, now is the time.
Hope I gave you all an idea on how to make your dad feel special (or not! haha). But then, these are just a few ideas you could do for your dad. Just remember that no matter how big or small, it’s the thought that completely matters. Every effort you do to make your dad feel loved will be highly appreciated by him. Even if we don’t be as nice as he expects us to be (uhm.. guilty! hehe), he would still appreciate every single thing you do for him. No matter if it’s Father’s Day or not, still, make your dad feel special. I’m telling you, you won’t regret it.
So, to all the Dads out there….
