Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter
If you know the classical Disney cartoons just like I do, then you probably know who the Mad Hatter is. He, together with other characters like Tweedledee and Tweedledum, The Queen of Hearts, the Cheshier Cat, and a whole lot more, give life to the animated movie, Alice in Wonderland.
Yes, you heard that right, Johnny Depp is starring as the Mad Hatter in a film by Tim Burton, Alice in Wonderland. As we all know, Johnny Depp has played very interesting roles. Edward Scissorhands, the famous Jack Sparrow (savvy?), Sweeney Tod, and Willy Wonka are some of the roles Depp gave life to. And, no doubt he did a really good job in portraying each and every role differently and interestingly. He is just such a versatile actor. So it wouldn’t be a surprise if he gets the role as the Mad Hatter. Definitely, his portrayal of the said character would definitely be a watch-out for.

Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter
Alongside Johnny Depp, other well-known actors and actresses are playing their own significant roles in Alice in Wonderland. Helena Bonham Carter (who Depp co-starred with on Sweeney Todd) plays the Red Queen, while Anne Hathaway (who doesn’t know her?? She played Mia Thermopolis in Princess Diaries) plays the White Queen. The White Rabbit is voiced by Michael Sheen, while Matt Lucas plays Tweedledee and Tweedledum.
Tim Burton portrays the movie in a weird and wild Wonderland. Yes, Wonderland sure is weird, but then, we still see it as a colorful picture in our heads. If we used to know Wonderland as bright and colorful, Tim’s interpretation of wonderland is dark and very out of this world (scary in my opinion).
Anyway, for more pictures of the said movie, here is a link to the article.
